New 100K to Launch in New York

The Northeast is getting a brand new 100K.

Ironwood Adventure Works recently announced they’ll hold a new 100K, the Great Hill Ultra, in New York’s Finger Lakes region this July.

This point-to-point 62-mile trail race set for July 9 will cover a large section of the scenic Finger Lakes region. According to the race description, it traverses 54 miles through hills and valleys scratched by glaciers to the Great Hill, sacred birthplace of the Haudenoshonee people. The final 8 miles climb and descend the gully rim trails around the hill.

Organizers say the race will include trails that aren’t usually available to the public.

The race’s challenging terrain includes long climbs, steep downhills, swamplands, hilltops with exceptional views, and even a short stretch through downtown Naples.

Visit the Ironwood website for more information about the Great Hill Ultra.
