Massachusetts’ North Shore will host an eight-event trail race series beginning in April and concluding in November.
The Boston-based Trail Animals Running Club (TARC) recently announced the lineup for their 2025 North Shore Trail Series.
The series features eight of the region’s top trail races spread across eight months. Participants will experience gentle carriage roads, rocky singletrack, and ocean vistas.
Runners taking part in the series score points based on their time as a percentage of the winner’s overall time, making every second count. The winner gets the maximum number of points, while other runners get a percentage of the maximum. The maximum number of points is 100.
Runners are counted as series participants if they complete at least six of the eight events. Three events in the series allow participants to choose between two distances offered. Participants in both distances will be scored and given points for their completion of these events.
The gender divisions of male, female, and nonbinary will all be scored separately and be based off of the winning time within that division.
The North Shore Trail Series began in 2010. This year’s version begins April 12 in Andover, Massachusetts, with the Merrimack River 10-Mile Trail Race. It concludes November 29 with the Thanks for the Trails 5K.
